Colquhounia coccinea Schl 2458

This is the best clone in cultivation, introduced by Tony Schilling from the Himalaya. A 3m deciduous shrub looking from a distance like a Buddleja in leaf and a giant Salvia in flower, with vermillion flowers over a long period from August till November, mainly at the tips of the shoots. This is a good hardy form, for full sun and well drained soil. From the Milke Danda, Nepal, 2740m alt.
