Crataegus wattiana

From Tajikistan, C. Asia, this often thornless wild thorn bears a remarkable resemblance to the Service Tree, Sorbus torminalis. Boldly lobed broad foliage, heads of white flower in spring and reasonably large translucent yellow/amber fruits in autumn. Extremely hardy and rather drought tolerant to boot, these cope with dry summers in habitat. A small tree.
