Crocosmia ‘Columbus’

With an Award of Garden Merit from the RHS Crocosmia trial, this cultivar has proven its worth. Flowers are rich orange-yellow as they expand from highly contrasting purple-pink buds and then open to a slightly lighter shade of warm-yellow, still with the contrasting bud scales at their bases. Mid to late summer flowering, with a height of up to 90cm. For sun or semi-shade and any reasonable soil, not too dry. Mulch over in winter if you are fearful, but normally perfectly hardy in most areas and rated at H4 (-10c).
