Echium gentianoides

True vivid blue flowers in loose pyramidal inflorescences on this shrubby species, over a very long summer period. Making a bushy specimen 120cm high and across, with slim grey-green evergreen foliage. Endemic to La Palma, Canary Islands, it occurs at altitudes above 1800m. Treat this as a pot plant overwintered undercover, or outside with excellent drainage if you live somewhere mild.
