Enkianthus deflexus

A large deciduous hardy shrub or small tree from the Himalaya into W China, famed for it's clusters of comparatively large, cream, pink-veined urn-shaped flowers in June (the largest in the genus) and attractive autumn leaf colour. Originating from high altitude near the Tibetan border of Arunachal Pradesh, NE India. Requiring lime-free soil.
