This rare wild hybrid came to me with the name 'Jinto Shan', but there is no such name as far as I can tell and is far more likely to be 'Jinfo Shan', as in the sacred mountain in Chongqing, China. Whatever, it is a handsome Epimedium, with the foliage particularly heavily mottled and splashed with red on emergence in spring, which is at its best as the flowers appear. These are composed of pale lilac-pink sepals and darker lilac-purple petals. For humus rich soil in shade to semi-shade, not too overly dry in summer.
