Eryngium ebracteatum

One of the South American species, with slim sword-like, grey-green foliage, though this one looks more like a Sanguisorba in flower. A cloud of short, slim, deep maroon flower heads in large many branched heads on very slim wiry stems produced in July. 1.5m. Hardy. Sun.
