Euonymus alatus var. apterus

Collected originally in Shikoku, Japan, this unusual variety of a well known autumn colouring species is slightly laxer in growth and has almost wingless stems. Grow this medium sized deciduous shrub for astoundingly good rosy-scarlet autumn colour. Reddish-purple seed capsules open to show bright-orange seeds. For any reasonably drained soil in sun or semi-shade. Very tough. 2m.
