Euonymus theifolius

Native to the Himalaya and NE India, this very rarely seen evergreen Spindle makes a small rounded shrub with attractive, slim, dark-green foliage and four-lobed pink fruit capsules in autumn, opening to orange seeds. Easy and tough in most soils and situations. I have grown it in deep shade in the Cotswolds for about 30 years, though full sun to part shade are also good.
