A cross between the 'Columnaris' and 'Aspleniifolia' forms of our native Alder buckthorn, combining their features and giving rise to a narrow upright shrub with very narrow foliage. The wild species is normally a rather dull native large deciduous shrub or even small tree, but in this form it is transformed into a thing of beauty. Foliage is reduced to thread like whisps a mere 3 to 5mm wide, making a very fine foliage plant, especially in autumn when they turn an excellent deep yellow. Tough and easy, to 2m tall and only 60cm wide.
