One of the very first cultivars (1928) of this hybrid Witch Hazel ever raised, holding an Award of Garden Merit from the RHS and still highly regarded. A vigorous cultivar making a large wide spreading bush, the branches profusely covered in sweetly scented bright yellow flowers towards the end of winter; Feb-March. Good autumn colours. Any reasonably drained soil which doesn't dry excessively in summer, though not happy with very thin chalk soils. Best mulched to build up a good humus layer. Happy on clay if improved with humus and mound planted.
