Hedychium coccineum ‘Ukhrul Embers’

A recently named cultivar of this widespread and variable species, originally found in Manipur, NE India, differing in its much daintier form of both individual flower and inflorescence size. Clear orange fragrant flowers emerge from red tinted bracts in late summer/autumn. Bold slim slightly grey-green ladder-like foliage with a paler mid-rib. Try it outside in a warm sunny spot, as it is most likely perfectly hardy in the ground, especially with a good winter mulch. Offered first here at Pan Global Plants.
