Hippophae rhamnoides subsp. sinensis LSE 15724

A famous specimen of this sits in front of the laboratory RHS Wisley. Very different from the straight species, this rarity from China forms a round headed small tree with a thick trunk and semi-weeping, arching branches. The slightly broader foliage is green above and grey beneath. Very tough and easy, eventually reaching up to about 8m tall with a trunk up to 60cm thick.
