Hydrangea integrifolia

An evergreen climbing species from the mountains of Taiwan and the Philippines, closely related to the Mexican H. seemannii. Domed white lacecaps about 20cm across borne in summer on reasonably mature plants. The sterile florets dotted amongst, and around the fertile ones. Best on a sheltered wall in semi-shade. Usually sold incorrectly as H. serratifolia in cultivation, this is the more ornamental of the two.
