Hypericum sp. nova ‘Fancy Pants’

A exceptional new species, found on Fan Si Pan Mountain and due to receive a formal description at some stage. In the meantime we can enjoy it in our gardens as a first rate plant. Related to H. hookerianum with flowers orange-yellow in bud, opening a rich, egg-yolk yellow with a very cup shaped form. Broad leaves are heavily stained purple on the underside of new growth. Possibly best grown in a sheltered position where it should make a shrub to perhaps 1m+.
