Impatiens aff. apalophylla

Introduced as I. balansae, but it doesn't fit the description in Flora of China. More likely it is a form of I. apalophylla with coloured foliage. A superb evergreen perennial species with deepest burgundy undersides to the leaves and sizable rich golden-yellow spurred flowers with orange-red mouths, borne on wiry stalks. A strongly upright plant, potentially to about 1.5m. Overwinter frost free.
