Kalopanax septemlobus

A rather striking member of the Araliaceae, as so many are, from the Far East, with large deciduous foliage superficially resembling a very bold maple, but held on very spiny shoots. A hardy tree of small to medium size in the UK, succeeding on all types of soil and throughout the country. Large flattish heads of white flowers are seen in autumn.
