Lagerstroemia indica ‘Violacea’

Terminal heads of pale violet flowers borne in late summer/early autumn on a large deciduous shrub with peeling bark and superb autumn colour. Plant this against a warm wall to promote good flowering, though the plant itself is perfectly hardy. Best in the parts of the UK with reasonably warm summers, but climate change will make these commonplace in future. Any normal soil.
