Laserpitium siler

An under-known and underused yet particularly splendid umbellifer from Central and Southern Europe, bearing slightly domed large umbels of white flowers June-July to 1m high. A tough plant, this is used to growing in rocky well drained positions, though is also happy enjoying an easier life. Highly attractive grey-green bipinnate foliage composed of masses of narrow oblong leaflets. A truly excellent perennial, combining drought tolerance with handsome foliage and large flower heads that float above on wiry stems.
