Lindera erythrocarpa

Unusual amongst this genus in often making a single stemmed small tree to about 6m or maybe a little more, this Eastern Asian species of 'spicebush' is grown for its abundant display of clear yellow flowers in spring, its bright yellow autumn colour and bright red pea sized fruit on female specimens. The foliage is quite slim, though a little broader at the apex (oblanceolate). For any reasonably moist, neutral to acid soil in sun or semi-shade.
