A new cultivar, propagated from the famous specimen near the lakes at Wisley, where it has shown very reliable rich autumn colouring of vivid crimson and deep burgundy. Contrary to popular belief, Sweet Gums can be planted on thin alkaline soils with great success, but grow to full size on deeper more moisture retentive sites. A large tree potentially.
