Magnolia salicifolia ‘Aia’

From the Jardín Botánico de Iturraran, in the Basque region of N. Spain, this is a semi-double flowered selection of the willow leaved magnolia from Japan. Scented pure white flowers are composed of approx 22 tepals and are borne en-masse in mid-spring. Slim willowy foliage is highly fragrant when bruised. Very hardy this makes a small conical tree for any good deep, rich soil.
