Magnolia sieboldii x macrophylla subsp. ashei

Combining the qualities of both parents, this hybrid has large, tropical-esque leaves with pale undersides and exotically and deliciously perfumed white flowers with pink stamens in early summer, similar to M. sieboldii, but up to 20cm across. Plants potentially flower after just a few years. For any reasonably deep soil in sun or semi-shade.
