An exceptionally rare naturally occurring hybrid involving M. denudata, found only in a few locations in C. China, forming a hardy small tree with particularly goblet-shaped M. denudata-like flowers on the bare branches in spring; white, marked with dark red-purple at the base of each tepal in the style of M. biondii. The leaves are unusual in that their tips are particularly truncated. For any good quality soil.
