Meliosma beaniana

Extremely rare and virtually never available for sale, these are seed raised from an original Wilson introduction. Kew have found it impossible to reintroduce this from China due to lack of seed. Wilson described this as 'striking and handsome'. Pinnate foliage and masses of cream flowers in May, this is a perfectly hardy small tree, growing in inland Sussex for the last 90 years.
