Miscanthus sinensis ‘Ferner Osten’
A distinct form from the prolific German nurseryman Ernst Pagels, with very narrow foliage and deep-red flowers in late summer. Makes a bold clump of strong stems up to 1.5m tall, with the foliage arching outwards, then turning to copper-orange shades in autumn. For sun or part shade in most soils. Hardy.
