Moltkia doerfleri

A hummock forming woody-based slightly hairy rhizomatous perennial from the mountains of NE Albania, often found growing on cliffs and other rocky places with good drainage. Slightly pendent heads of tubular purple flowers are seen atop the 30 to 50cm stems in late spring to mid-summer. Rather handsome in flower. Sun and well drained soil. Hardy.
