Very rarely seen outside its Chilean homeland, this small evergreen shrub from Central Chile bears narrow linear foliage which bronzes well over winter, contrasting well with the very bright light green spring new growth. A mass of densely set, highly fragrant fluffy white flowers form from pink buds in August or September. Typical myrtle fruit are seen with the flowers and are red, turning black. For any reasonably drained ordinary soil, but best given shelter in colder gardens. To about 1.5m tall.
