Neolitsea sericea – from Korea

A Far Eastern member of the laurel family, well known amongst keen plantsmen for its outstanding foliage, making a medium to large evergreen shrub. In this proven hardier form the young ovate foliage starts to expand particularly red tinted in spring, covered in silken, golden shining hairs, before becoming green, when the glaucous underside becomes apparent. Cream-yellow flowers in autumn. Best with some shelter from freeze-drying Easterly winds.
