Neolitsea sericea – from Korea

A Far Eastern member of the laurel family, well known amongst keen plantsmen for its outstanding foliage, making a medium to large evergreen shrub. In this proven hardier form the oval foliage expands particularly pinky-red in spring, covered in silken, golden shining hairs, before becoming green, when the glaucous underside becomes apparent. Cream-yellow flowers in autumn. Best with some shelter.
