Introduced to the UK in relatively recent history and proven hardy to at least -18c in 2010, this grows with Agave montana at around 3000m alt. in the wilds of NE Mexico, where it forms trunks to a few metres high, topped by long green linear foliage, each with a subtle twist, making a mature rosette a fine sight. I grow it in full sun and well drained soil high in the Cotswolds and have rosettes up to 2m across. Huge panicles of tiny cream flowers in maturity rise at least 2m above the foliage. Sun and drainage.
