Nothofagus fusca

The Red beech from New Zealand makes a fast growing tree, slowing to become only small to medium sized in most areas, though can make an impressive large specimen with a vertical trunk over time in moist, humid areas. The evergreen leaves are relatively small, rounded to oval and coarsely toothed and often turn copper in autumn. Best sheltered when young.
