Nyssa sinensis

A Chinese counterpart to the N. American 'tupelo', N. sylvatica, this is mainly grown for its superb brilliant-red and orange autumn colour, though new growth is also red tinted, maturing green, and leaves can reach 15cm long; much larger than N. sylvatica. Makes an upright small hardy tree for neutral to acid soil.
