Paeonia delavayi Potaninii group

This very hardy Chinese shrubby species makes a suckering clump to 90cm high, with highly attractive very deeply dissected narrowly lobed grey-green foliage on red tinted petioles. Red flowers with a large boss of yellow stamens are borne in early May and are up to 8cm across in this form. For a sunny site in any reasonably drained soil. Previously known as P. potaninii and now sometimes as P. delavayi var. angustiloba f. angustiloba. This clone may in fact have a certain percentage of straight P. delavayi genes, as it is very robust for a Potaninii.
