Panicum virgatum ‘Heiliger Hain’

A very fine form of the American Switch grass, with an upright habit to 80cm and light blue-green foliage that starts to colour with deep-red in summer and turns to the richest burgundy in autumn. Diffuse red-tinted flower heads from August until November. For a sunny, not overly crowded position in well drained soil; best grown lean and fairly dry. Very hardy and clump forming.
