Parrotia persica ‘Felicie’

A form with a naturally spreading crown, selected from young plants grown from seed collected from the Hyrcanian forests of Azerbaijan, bordering the Caspian Sea. 'Felicie' is a form with foliage that starts to show deep red/purple colouring at the ends of the branches as early as June, turning to brilliant shades of yellow, orange, scarlet and deep crimson in autumn. Mottled patchwork bark peels in 'jigsaw' like pieces to reveal pale creamy under-bark. Easy and very hardy in most conditions and highly recommended for a warming, drying UK climate.
