Persicaria virginiana var. filiformis ‘Compton’s Red’

Excellent foliage qualities here, from a non-running, clump forming species, boldly marked in this form, collected wild in China by Compton, D'Arcy & Rix. Pointed, oval, fairly large green to grey-green foliage is flushed with deep-red and bears a strong red-brown chevron. Very small red flowers in late-summer and autumn. Retentive soil in sun or semi-shade. 90cm.
