Philadelphus delavayi f. melanocalyx ‘Huarache Nights’
Raised here at Pan Global', this has exceptionally dark new growth, unlike any other seen in cultivation. The flowers are typical of the superb f. melanocalyx, with purple calyxes behind the pure white petals, making a striking contrast and are produced in dense racemes in June. Makes a large deciduous shrub to 3m, for sun or semi-shade. Easy and hardy.
