Philadelphus madrensis F&M 326

Most (all?) plants named as this species in UK cultivation are in fact P. maculatus. Here we have the real thing, that we found many years ago in Durango State, Mexico, which differs in its pure white flowers and lightly toothed foliage. Masses of white flowers in early summer on a deciduous shrub to only 1m in the wild. The flowers are subtly but very sweetly scented. Sun and drainage.
