Philadelphus ‘Purpureomaculatus’

A sister of famous names such as 'Belle Etoile', 'Bicolore', 'Sybille' etc. and like them with purple blotched heavily scented flowers, though very intense in this cultivar. A small to medium sized deciduous hardy shrub with arching stems hung with masses of white, highly fragrant flowers, each very heavily blotched with purple at the base of each petal. Easy in most locations apart from deep shade, flowering more intensely with more sun.
