Phillyrea angustifolia ‘Green up’

A selected form with a neat, and fairly dense habit. A medium sized, Mediterranean, compact evergreen shrub for a sunny site, and very drought tolerant with it, making a ball of around 2x2m if left unclipped. Slender dark green foliage and large amounts of small, fragrant, cream flowers in clusters along the branches in May and June. Ideal for seaside gardens but also perfectly hardy and easy inland. Related to the olive, but hardier and giving a similar Mediterranean feel. Great for hedging and suited to any reasonably drained soil in sun.
