Phlomis leucophracta ‘Golden Janissary’

A scarcely known, superb form of this very rare Turkish species, making an outstanding foliage plant for a sunny, well drained, and preferably fairly sheltered position. Hairy green leaves have conspicuously brighter margins and undersides, which start early season as pale grey, turning sandy yellow as the summer progresses. Brownish-golden-yellow flowers encircle the stems in early summer. Very drought and heat tolerant. A small evergreen shrub to approximately 1m tall.
