Picrasma quassioides

A rare ornamental Asian, small, hardy, easily grown tree with attractive red-stalked pinnate foliage turning bright yellow, orange or scarlet in autumn, contrasting with the bunches of pea-sized fruit that start soft-red and turn metallic slate-blue. Lime tolerant but best in a reasonably good loam if alkaline.
