Pilea matsudae ‘Taiwan Silver’

A hardy shade loving plant from the mountains of Taiwan, grown for the excellent white striped, coarsely toothed foliage, borne en-masse on herbaceous stems to 80cm tall. A non-stinging member of the Urticaceae (stinging nettle) family, enjoying regular moisture in summer. Ideally suited to understorey in the woodland garden or shady area under trees and shrubs.
