Pittosporum bicolor

Particularly erect in growth, this vigorous evergreen large shrub or small tree from SE Australia and Tasmania is clothed in narrow linear foliage; their margins turned under and their undersides coated in white hair, turning brown. Clusters of bell-shaped maroon flowers with yellow stamen in spring. Usually associated with milder Southern or western gardens, this is hardier than is given credit for in today's generally milder climate.
