Pittosporum glabratum

An evergreen Chinese species, very rarely seen in cultivation, up to 1.8m high with dark green foliage, tapered at both ends, and very fragrant soft yellow flowers seen in May. Seed capsules split to reveal bright red seeds in autumn. For a sheltered position in sun or semi-shade in any reasonable soil, though actually really rather hardy.
