Populus x kornicensis ‘Beloni’

Grown for foliage effect, this is a hybrid between two ornamental, very closely related, large leaved Chinese species, P. wilsonii and P. lasiocarpa, sharing characters of both. Not a vast tree, reaching medium size, though strong growing and forming an upright conical crown in youth, this has thick shoots and big heart shaped leaves up to 25x18cm. Hardy and suited to any normal or even wet soil. Previously known as P. x wilsocarpa.
