The Golden oak of Cyprus is endemic to that island, rarely available commercially and is highly desired by those in the know. Most often a large multistemmed shrub in the wild, this often grows as a small evergreen tree in cultivation to around 10m tall after many decades. Despite its extreme drought tolerance and exceptional hardiness, the main attraction with this species is the rich mustardy-yellow indumentum clothing the underside of the very tough, rigid, leathery, rounded and usually convex glossy dark-green leaves. For full sun and well drained soil.
