Very rare in cultivation and from a restricted area in NE Mexico (Coahuila and Nuevo Leon) at high altitude, this is fully hardy in the UK and makes a large evergreen, drought tolerant, potentially rhizomatous shrub with holly-like foliage. Up to 4m.
