Quercus hypoleucoides

From the far SW USA and NW Mexico, the Silverleaf Oak is a particularly handsome evergreen species. It's main attraction is the leathery, slim, willowy dark green foliage that is silvery-white beneath held on grey-tomentose branches. Leaves emerge bright pink and woolly. Very rare in cultivation this will make a small hardy tree here for a sunny site.
