Quercus ilicifolia

The Bear oak, from the North Eastern USA, makes a small tree or shrub with spreading branches in the UK, usually no more than 5m high. New foliage is attractively pink flushed and turns to a glossy deep green. This member of the 'red oak' group has deeply lobed leaves. Fully hardy.
